RT Specialty is pleased to announce a planned leadership succession, which highlights the deep roster of talent at the firm. The following appointments are effective August 1, 2026.
Edward McCormack will transition from RT Specialty CEO to Vice Chairman, having played a critical role in RT's growth since its inception 16 years ago. Brendan M Mulshine, Ryan Specialty Co-President, will assume the additional role of RT Specialty CEO, Brenda (Ballard) Austenfeld will become Deputy Vice Chairman, Hugh Mooney will be CEO of the RT National Property Practice, Chris Houska will be Vice Chairman of the the RT National Casualty Practice and Ryan Grimes will be CEO of the RT National Casualty Practice. Ryan Specialty Underwriting Managers Gives Back continues to be an important reflection of who we are as a firm. Since launching in 2023 to align our MGUs in support of charitable giving, the initiative has brought meaningful impact to the communities we serve.
For 2026, we are proud to work with the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), the largest grassroots mental health organization in the United States.
